Reflection
This week I am reflecting on what I was going to do for this week. I look back on what I wrote, and I noticed that I need to use some other techniques as well as the ones I'm using because on some parts I didn't follow through. For example, I found that highlighting does help me, but I have a hard time selecting what is really important in the material I'm reading. I also didn’t make marginal notations for Political Science. As well, I never made flashcards for the amendments and court cases. I never worked on outlining to study for the exit exams coming up. I also did not read over the material in Anthropology like I wanted to do. And in Spanish, I never looked over the grammar points for chapters 6 and 7 or made flashcards for the vocabulary like I planned to do.
There are consequences to not doing the techniques like I said I was going to do. Those consequences are very damaging to my academic career if I want to succeed. For example, the consequence for not highlighting and making marginal notations in the chapter for Political Science is that I will probably not do so well if I do not buckle down and start studying properly and follow a study plan. In Anthropology, the consequence for not going over the material I wanted to read over and making marginal notations for that material, as well as making flashcards for the vocabulary, is failing the class. The consequence for not practicing outlining for the exit exams is that I will probably not pass them. And, if I do not go over the grammar points and make flashcards for the vocabulary in Spanish, that consequence means I will not get a good grade on the final. If I do not get a good grade on the final, my overall grade could drop.

Reflection
For this week, I hope to use the following strategies for studying in my classes. I have may finals coming up and I hope these strategies will help. For my Political Science class, I will use the strategy of highlighting what is important in the chapters I need to read. Also, I will make marginal notations in my own words about what I highlighted. I will also make flash cards for the amendments and court cases I need to know. For reading I will work on outlining for the exit exams. For Anthropology, I will read over the reading we had and highlight what was important and make marginal notations. For the key terms I will make flash cards and review them. For Spanish I will look over the grammar in the book. I will also make flash cards for the vocabulary.
These skills will help me in the long run because The way I have planned out my studying will help me retain more information for my finals. Also I have devised a study plan for each class. I will spend at least 20 minutes every day for each subject. After I have studied for 20 minutes I will take a break. When I come back to that subject I will study my flash cards that I have made. I will do that for each subject. Also, I will have someone quiz me so that I know that I understand the information. I know that if I apply these techniques that I will do well in school.
